WTB: 1.5 block, 1.5 pistons, or 1.6 mech/11mm block
« on: September 05, 2008, 11:07:54 am »
I need either a good 1.5 block (with standard size bores), or oversize 1.5 pistons (yeah right).

Or, I'm looking for an early 1.6 block which uses the 11mm head bolts.

Or, maybe I could put 1.6 internals into the 1.5 block, if someone has a 1.6 crank, rods, and oversized 1.6 pistons for sale. I've heard you can fit a 1.6 crank in a 1.5 block with a little grinding... don't know if it's true though.'

Thanks.

your just asking for trouble staying with 1.5 stuff you would be better off just going to a 12mm 1.6 block ! less problems down the road!
what is your location? should add that in your profile that would help find parts in your location!

Thanks, location is now specified (I will pay for shipping if needed though).

And you're right about the 1.5... but I'd like to keep as many parts as I have right now. Plus, for the very brief time I drove the car, I did like the feel of it. If I come across a good deal on a 1.6, I'll definitely go for it though.
