ok! so as possibly seen in a previous post i made a little boost gauge apparatus that i THINK works well.
Like i said i get 10psi when i'm really giviner and when it's reving a little higher than i like it to.
Can i adjust this with the LDA?
i'd like the boost at lower end if at all possible without losing my t3 for a k24.
While i'm driving normally the dial will buzz on the pin but when it starts building boost the dial is solid and goes right up to 10-11 psi. (i have the screw turned out pretty far so no smoke on that one).
Could i have to "reset" my gauge? could it be reading much lower than it really is? Does this buzzing mean anything?
Thanks for your time,
Ed.
buzzing usually occurs on gauges that were not normally meant for a car application. but you can get something to go between the gauge & line that will 'filter' it a bit; it is nothing more than a restrictor.
the wastegate could be stuck a little bit open, bleeding the boost off. either way something in your setup isnt working right. you should be able to hit 15-18 psi no prob @ 4k rpm - mine will bury the 20 psi gauge with my foot planted @ 4k
mine has boost controller that disables the wastegate. blow off valve = disabled. fueling is turned up. i suppose exhaust restrictions could also affect it...
X2 on what jtanguay said, my T3 ( on aaz )starts spooling around 2500rpm and will hit 26+ at 4200 on a stock exhaust and DP with fuel screw turnep up and 1.6 boost pin. I plan to go with a 3" on my Fox projekt
Of course the obvious question is have you adjusted the waste gate at all? Maybe it's set to only allow 10-11 PSI of boost in which case you can adjust the fuel all you want without increasing the boost a bit. Does it make more boost if you remove the line to the actuator(and plug the line)?
Ooooooo Thanks Jim. Yeah i knew i had to do that sooner or later. I was mostly wondering when most people make boost and what to do about my buzzer of a gauge.
I'm in the midst of making a 3" DP and 2.5 " dual exhaust that splits at the bottom of the DP. I need to do the waste gate like you all said. I plugged the blow off with a wine cork. I should take it off and plug it in the intake somehow but i don't have anything to weld that alluminium. All food for thought while I get my injectors popping at the right pressure and the time right on my IP with commuter boy this week.
Thanks to all.

im glad my gauge goes to 50   !!!!
quite a bit more work to fully utilize that though
