sounds more like an inner cv joint to me.
the TOB will make noise even if the car is stationary. That is of course, if you had a bad TOB 
wouldnt the inner cv joint make noise regardless of where the clutch is engaged at. and why would the TOB make noise when the car isnt even moving?
no because when you push the clutch in, you change the loading on the CV joint. Inner CV joints can be VERY hard to diagnose if you dont take them apart and inspect. Tehy can also make wierd noises and even be intermittent.
Like was said earlier, you can always throw a TOB at it and see what happens.
im not trying to attack you or anything like that .....just curious. i'll do the TOB tommorow. the cv joint wouldnt surprise me either. the car leaks a lot and oil could have weakend the boot
