Author Topic: who knows if 1.7 TD pistons will work in a 1.6 or 1.9? (Read 2170 times)

does any body know about 1.7TD pistons 79.48mm
3rd overbore is 77.53 for a 1.6
can that big of bore be done? or am i asking for trouble?
witch would these work better on 1.6 or a 1.9 block?

My 1.7TD pistons are in the machine shop.
A 1.6TD block is getting bored,.. rods getting sized for ARP and new pin bushings.
We'll see how it goes.
I've posted on here before that the 1.8 gasser blocks were normally bored to 83mm.

I think there is a guy on here with the username MJF or something close to it that has done 1.7, but I don't know if that is the total displacement or just the pistons.

My 1,7 was 1,9 with 1,6 crank = 1,7 litres
