WTB - 1.6TD custom Turbo Downpipe

sO,
been looking around, got a hold of -Dave- Passenger Performance who said no 1.6TD DP at this time over $500 if he should make them again"  :|

Wondering if anyone else has a resource for this? I've heard that the 1.9 downpipe is a bit bigger (size?) and will fit if you flip the turbo around or something..... I'd rather something that will just fit without doing that. 2.5Inch + in size...

LMK...

Myke-w has had good luck with a custom SS DP he has had built.  Forget which company made it, but it was way cheaper than 500 bucks, 300 I think.  Plus you won't have to wait 4-5-6 months.
2009 Jetta TDI Loyal edition, 6-spd. 16V 2.0CR

"Making the jump NA to TD" slow but sure.

The reason we aren't making them anymore is due to the market drying up, only building one a month isn't enough to justify the time and energy it takes to build one. We could make likely make them around the $410ish area, going to the $300 dollar mark would mean cutting corners and sacrificing quality which we are not willing to do.

No one has ever had to wait 4-6 months for a downpipe from us.

The 1.9td downpipes aren't really any better than the 1.6td units, you would be much better off getting one custom made.

Techtonics Tuning makes a very nice 2.25" SS Down Pipe for the 1.6l TD in the A1 Chassis, probably fit A2 Cars as well.

I am also looking for a DP 2.5" or 3" for my mk1 AAZ Caddy. Maybe if a few of us Volks get togather, it might be worth Daves time to build up a few for us.

Just bought my stainless steel DP through techtonicstuning for my mk1. It will also fit the mk2's. Heres the link...http://www.techtonicstuning.com/showpart.asp?partnum=251.224
I would like to thank Myke_w for the link. Its only 2.25" but it is SS and it comes with a short shifter. $329 shipped.

I called today and asked Josh at Techtonics (he's there diesel expert they said) specifically whether or not the MK1 TD downpipe would fit a MK2.  He said it wouldn't but that they have made one specifically for the MK2 in the past but they just don't have it on the website.  He said that the price for a MK2 2.25" downpipe would be the same as one for a MK1.  I'm hoping that a 2.5" MK2 downpipe won't cost too much more than the 2.25" one.

'91 Jetta TD, a work in progress (I'll do a build thread when I start in earnest)
