well i finally worked out all the minor bugs in my twin turbo setup in my 85 volvo 760 td 5 speed, got custom 3 in to 1 headers into the twin k24's, dual exhaust (sounds cool) stock volvo 760 gasser intercooler with add on straps around the end tanks to keep them in place, and some pump mods, have no clue on HP or 1/4 mile times.
anyway, i am out playin with boost and stopping and adjusting fuel screw and star wheel, got it nice with hardly no smoke, 30 psi, ( i can get 40+ psi but dont wanna blow it) first gear is useless as i am at redline before i can get full boost, second gear i have to find stickier tires, third hooks up.
the story begins, a kid in his copper color 350z saw me getting sideways pulling onto the 3 lane road he was on, we pull up to the next lite (its a good 5 miles to the next lite and its a 3 lane hyway and almost no traffic) and he roled down his window to ask weather i did the mustang motor conversion to my car. told him "nope, got something better, a diesel under the hood"
well i got a look from him, with his big *** eating grin.
he started to rev his engine cause the light was about to change, i put the silver bullet into second gear and held the rpms about 4600 so i had 10 psi of boost, light turned and a bit of fancy cluch work and i was off, his front bumper was by my back door, third gear power shift he was now a half a car lenght behind, fourth gear a full car lenght behind going 93mph, 5 gear hurt me as its alot higher gear (brought me below 3500rpm ) and i lost "full"boost till 3700, and the hp to aerodynamics kicked (it is a volvo brick) in about 115mph when he finaly was able to just creap by me, i let off at about 120 my, egt got to high for me too.
so he stops at the next gas station, I pull in behind him and he gets out and says "Wow holy *** dude, you got nitrus or somethig, cause you were smokin out the exhaust and the tires"
i poped the hood and showed him the mighty 2.4L. as he stood in aww, and he had to take a few pics with his camra phone, cause he could not believe a diesel just gave him a real good run.
he said his car runs mid 14's in the 1/4
we bs'd for a bit and i went home with a grinn on my face all night.
it was fast almoste as fast as my 89 taurus SHO(13.2 stock 1/4)
i think i may try k14's as i can get 2 off of a friend, hmmmmmm
i had fun

i had it with one large turbo when i bought the car, but switched to 2 smaller turbos k24, and i just got done installing to even smaller k14 ecodiesel turbo's in order to get more usable power band. WOW. this is the combo i am sticking with, almost no turbo lag, and it pulls real strong from 1800rpm all the way to 6000. alot quicker throtle responce, sounds better, and seems to have a bit more power, i also finished up the air to water intercooler, gonne try that soon, but the stock volvo one is BIG and seems great, but i want better
yes 6 cylinders is proving to be alot more potent than the 4 cyl. but i am only getting about 20mpg US driving easy. so the 4 cylinders have a perpose too.
