LDA Feeler pin--not ramped boost pin
« on: August 03, 2008, 12:19:08 pm »
Hi there, long time reader...first post...
I have a 1.6 TD Jetta and I was monkeying around with the LDA boost pin. When I reinstalled the boost pin into the LDA I snapped off the guide pin( cam follower)/feeler pin). So know it hemorrages fuel out the ambient drain and I now also own a broken feeler pin. What I need is the part number of the pin. I have looked but unsuccessful so far.( mebbe missed it). Im going to replace it myself thanks to the great walk-throos you guys have provided. So thanks in advance and keep up the great site.

Yea im sure its broken ..I fished half of the pin out and the other half was inside the hole until I started it and it blew out. Now the second half is in the bottom of the LDA hole and fuel now fills the LDA and shoots out the overflow...DOH. So I need to find a new pin and replace it. Oh and Ill add that it wasnt actually my car but a friends....he's not impressed LOL.

It takes quite much force to break that pin I beleive  :D

Did you use a hammer so force the LDA pin down the hole? It helps rotating the whole thing when inserting it, the positioning it the right way after it passed the feeler pin.

Ummm embarrasing but yes I used much force pushing the LDA pin down the hole. Not sure why I did but I did. I do know better but for a temporary lapse in judgement.

Sorry to hammer my own post with replies but one quick question....can you remove and install the feeler pin without removing the LDA assy from the pump?
