Hmmm, I guess this is why it was only making 10 PSI

Sounded rather loud as well. I'm not sure what happened but there was a lot of oil getting pushed through from the breather. Maybe on one of my steep uphill sections, oil pooled in back towards the breather and got blown through, breaking the blades? I am currently working on a new oil separator for the valve cover, but of course with my current luck, my spool gun has decided to f-up, spitting out wire as fast as it can as soon as it gets power, then quickly slowing to pushing a little wire out at random intervals. So one weld looks decent, the second looks like I was shooting aluminum balls out of my bb gun at it, and I didn't even attempt the last weld yet.

On a good note, the turbine blades are fine and many pieces went into the intake hose. I imagine the IC trapped the rest. It will come off today and get cleaned out.

That looks almost exactly like the last 2 turbo's I've removed from my car....

Tell me more on the oil catcher.

I've been wanting to get/make one as well. I leave little black spots every where I park due to having it vented the atmosphere.

Back to the turbo;

Was the nut still tight? I suspect it wasnt?
That obviously was hitting something.

Nut was tight. Oil catcher is being made from an aluminum fire extinguisher that I cut down. I am welding tubes in the bottom for the CC vent and sump vent, and I have a bunch of rolled up SS gauze in it to catch the oil. The gauze was out of one of my old oilbath air filters.
