Newb -> What engine do I have and no buzzers, oil light e

New to the forum, and I have been doing a ton of searching. I just picked up a 1995 Jetta GL 277,000km Diesel as my new commuter car.

I keep reading about the "eco" engine so I checked the engine code and mine shows DM, not the AAZ I was looking for. What is in my car for an engine?

Also I am in the hunt for a Bentley manual to help kill the gremlins in the car. Is there something simple that I can look for that affects my oil pressure light, buzzer, etc?  Currently I only have low coolant, and brake lights working.

Most likely it is an AAZ.

To see if it is the eco version or not, look on the top of the pump. If there is a small hose going to the intake manifold it is not an eco.

There is no simple solution to wiring although the clusters are known to fail in your car's year range.
