• Anyone know if there is a difference in the 1.6 na crank to a 84 td crank.  Both are mechanical lefter engines.
  
  I just bought a TD and got it running after swapping in a different injector pump and it has a bad rod knock.  I am gettig the motor rebuilt, but wanted to know if I can use the na crank.

• What year of 1.6lNA is it?  Later 1.6lNA cranks have the same part number as 1.6lTD cranks.  The early 1.6l cranks have different noses.  If you have a later year of 1.6lNA like an '83 or '84, the crank nose should match the 1.6lTD style.  More info on crank nose identification is here:

• Thanks for the link.  I do not know the year on the na.  All I know is that it came out of a caddy.
  
  I'll just finish taking it apart to figure out if it is the same.
  
  That leads into my next question, are the bottom ends pretty strong on these motors?
