Custom Intake Manifold
« on: May 18, 2005, 12:52:57 pm »
I've been considering having a customized intake manifold fabbed for my 01 TDI.  I was thinking of either having an aluminum tube attached to the top of the runners on the stock TDI manifold as a plenum with the option of allowing air in on either side.  Or alternatively, I was considering doing the same with an earlier IDI manifold that has slightly longer runners.  I could probably have something like this done for under $100 excluding the cost of the manifold itself.

Sound like a viable plan?  I would eliminate the EGR compeletely and have the upper IC pipe re-routed to the new inlet(or on the other side from an FMIC if I go that route.

Sorry, my home PC where the picture is hosted gave me a scare and shut-off spontaneously and would not come back on until later in the night.  :?:

Should work now.  Nothing really new for those who have followed the mods on my car.
