Needed: 1.6TD rebuilt injector pump
« on: July 20, 2008, 07:52:30 pm »
The pump in my jetta is pissing diesel out the back side onto the block.  It is an eco-diesel pump, and I would like to take this time to upgrade my setup.  If anybody knows where I can find a 1.6TD pump I've got cash in hand.

Thanks

Patrick

I believe the eco pump had some good internals in it.  check with giles or tintin.

still searching.  Giles is a bit out of my price range...  $1300CDN for a pump is worth more than my car!

If you just want a core to be sent to Giles I'll sell one for $75. I'll even deliver it to him personally for free

hey!

I just had mine resealed through a guy on Ebay. His username on ebay is red_rider.

http://cgi.ebay.ca/VW-Diesel-Fuel-Injection-Pump-Resealed_W0QQitemZ250274375643QQihZ015QQcategoryZ33555QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

He's resealed over 200 of these pumps without any negative feedback and the cost is only $115. he's been a diesel mechanic for 25 years.

He replaces every seal and guarantees your pump leak free for 1 year. If all you need is for your pump to be resealed, don't pay extra to get it rebuilt. These are very hardy pumps that rarely need to be actually rebuilt. Due to change to ULSD fuels, my pump finally sprung leaks off a couple seals. My pump has over 520,000 km's and still runs like a hot damn! The only thing that needed replacing other than the seals was the throttle bushing. I ended up paying under 600 with labour taking this route. Dielsel shops in Canada want at least 700 dollars just to reseal the pump....most rebuilds with R&R costs run from 1300 to 1700 dollars!

If you have the time to send him your pump, then i highly recommend him. Once he recieves the pump his turn over time is almost overnight.

....don't waste your money on a pump that's been sitting for 5 years...it will leak as well as the seals have likely dried out.
