How reliable is a 99.5 and newer tdi?
« on: May 16, 2005, 09:04:22 pm »
Maybe this is a stupid question, but if I found one with higher mileage, like 200+ kms, what kind of shape would I be in?
I mean, my 93's only got like 180 on her, but I got it with low miles.
Thoughts?

I had an early 2000 TDI
Thought the motor and tranny were great.
Brakes, electronics and interior were the sh*ts.

Cost of maintenance was the major factor in me selling it.

My mom has a 2001 and other than belt, oil, fuel filter, shocks, struts, brake pad changes it hasn't needed much of anything. I replaced one glow plug....and both headlight bulbs for her. Oh, it's on it's 3rd set of tires and has 80k miles on it. I don't think the mk4's are bad at all.
