Author Topic: Starts to rev up from half throttle only? (Read 1860 times)

I have a 1.6 td in my Suzuki buggy,when I step on the throttle it only starts to rev up from half throttle on.I'm not looking for an all out race car,I just want better off Idle torque.Here's a list of mods I have done...maybe I screwed up somewhere: governer mod,1.9 cam plate and GTD injectors

have you touched the pump??? i would verify that the accelerator cable doesn't have any slack. it sounds to me as if there is enough slack in the cable until 1/2 way down and then starts to pull? did you use the vw cable or another?

could also be if the pump was taken apart and the fuel control lever not indexed correctly. big pain in the butt if it is!

Easiest way I found to fix that is take the lever and spring(s) off, start the engine, and assuming it doesn't run away, hold the lever on and rotate it until it first starts to increase engine speed. Kill engine, pull off lever and rotate it and put it on as close to the throttle stop as possible and mark it. Then assemble.

no slack in the cable,it uses a Sidekick cable....may not indexed ......but i think it is...maybe screwed up governer mod?
