Does anyone know of a good source for the vnt15 or 17? Not looking for 900 new.   You need the entire manifold to go with it correct?  Any idea on what the mechanical linkage setup costs to fab up?  Considering options for my AAZ head.  Might need the early boost to push the gears in the ctn trans.

i bought a vnt-17 off tintin.  it did not have the integrated manifolt on it.  just make an adaptor plate and off you go  :)

for the mechanical linkage you need an accelerator cable or two.  remember you can't have tight bends, or risk it binding!  the idea is very simple, but getting it to work right might take some time/fabbing.

I saw that deal while I was researching. Kept reading and looking at the date, hoping it was still for sale. Barginski for you!!
From what I have been reading, it appears as if the shaft on the 17 is superior to the 15.  Any additional concerns to going the 17 route over the 15?

On both the .46 Vnt 15 and 17 cold sides I have here, I must say they look identical. I had heard the 17 was just a re-named 15, maybe when they upgraded the shaft, and I'd believe it. The one in my truck is a .43, which is obviously different, and was from a non-VW app.

I have one that leaks oil out the exhaust side, it may be a vnt17 (# is gt1749V), I haven't heard back from the potential buyer in a week, so it may be up for sale.

I found the post about the shaft, low and behold it was from you!

Functionally they are the same, but the shaft is necked down between the two bearing contact points on the 15, and is a constant size on the 17 and above.

Are you saying the housings look identicle or the actual wheel?

I have a stock t3, k24, and the bigger merc turbo, but wanted to look at something with a bit more low end boost.  The ko3 spools like mad but runs out fast, I have heard good things about the k14 from the eco-diesel, but don't see many come up.  The vnt turbo's look to be spot on for pushing through the gears on the ctn with a 1.6td.
