Is there a true legitimate injector upgrade for an AAZ? I have a Giles pump and now want to upgrade the injectors, if anything better is available.
european "GTD" injectors, from the RA/SB engine code
but ask Giles, he can hook you up
The GTD nozzles don't seem to work any better in a good AAZ.
what "gtd" nozzles? what was the partnumber of the nozzles you tested?
in Europe the "gtd" was a trim level, the engine could be the 70hp JR or the 80hp RA/SB, around this forum somebody started to call the later "gtd nozzles".
there are sellers that sell JR nozzles as GTD, and they are correct, as the GTD could have both.
I haven't tried them myself, it just seems that all the posts I've read state that the 2-stage AAZ injector is about the same as the single-stage GTD injector. Maybe I'm wrong....that's why I posted this.
I'll be swapping my GTD nozzles from Smog that were in in my 1.6 style single stage "umwelt" injectors into a set of 1.9 dual stage injector bodies for my AAZ passat in the next few weeks. I'll post if there's any significant difference.

That sounds great. keep in touch.
hi..
the Nozzle itself is the same for nearly all 1.6L D/TD: DN0SD293 to pop at 130 or 155Bar, it doesn't matter if 54, 70 or 80HP.
DN0SD297, 294 or 308 from AAZ or 1,6TD with 60HP also work great on the others. the engine will start better an run smoother (it's great for SVO)
for more Perfomance get a bigger plunger und some more dynamic timing.
2-stage injectors makes your engine run more silent, but it is no
performance-upgrade, some had a MPG-drop when driving hard.
another negative thing: they cant be completely tested and adjusted
by a normal pop-tester..
i have DN0SD297@175 Bar with a 10mm plunger: in idle i sounds like a DI
if you want to do something good for your engine: take new nozzles and adjust to 165Bar, like spark-plugs, nozzles get weared.
