jbmorrisons on ebay
« on: July 10, 2008, 07:21:11 pm »
aparently this guy has been selling nozzles labeled as genuine bosch , but are fake knock offs .

i bought some from him a few weeks ago , filed a dispute yesterday , and he was good enough to refund all my money .....

the bad part is how many people did he decieve ?

BUT  i thought i'd start a thread to warn others .

i've been talking to another guy who bought stuff from him on ebay , who tipped me off about the stuff being fake .

this is what he wrote to me ;

"If you call Bosch and give them the part number they will verify that these
are fake.  I found out after purchasing these and reading threads on
tdiclub.com that these are indeed fake.  Someone on there took some highly
magnified shots of the metallurgy between these "original" Bosch injectors
and some Fratelli Bosios and found that the "original" Bosch are definitely
inferior in quality.

* edit*

and he hasn't been on TDICLUB.com for a
long time either.  I think he knows he messed up.  I feel bad for the guy
though.  I know that deep down he just wanted to start a legit business.
It's not always easy though.  I really have nothing against the guy.  He
refunded my money and all I can say to him now is thanks.  Other than that,
he's a good ebayer, I think.  It's a shame he just didn't come out and talk
to the people he sold these to."

----------------------------------------

i purchased what i thought where real bosch gtd nozzles , they are even marked bosch and " made in france " on the nozzles .

funny thing is , the non bosch , stock replacement , nozzles  i got from prothe had a much better spray pattern , and i used them in my brothers 1.6 td samuria conversion .
1990 jetta , tweaked pump , tweaked turbo , ported head  2.5inch exhaust .

1993 dodge w250 , diesel ... removing the dead moose parts .

i bought some .216 tdi nozzles from him.  Giles installed & tested them... hopefully they are ok!  he didn't say anything about them being genuine bosch though.  i'm not expecting a high quality product like PP's...

I won a free injector service from Giles at the gtg he had.
I bought a set of .205's from JB and had Giles install them.
They sprayed well, but c'mon...for the price, I knew they had to be fake before I ordered.
We checked them out, and I was willing to try them. Lots of power, but lots of smoke too so I am not sure if I will continue using them. I have a 97 Jetta TDI and also run the 1st generation Upsolute chip. I get shudder or cold start bucking & even more smoke depending on injection qty setting. No happy medium.
Not sure if genuine Bosch or PP's would be much better in my case though.

I agree he may have been better off admitting up front that they are fakes, but that might have opened an even bigger can of worms?

I have an alligator tuned ECU and non genuine 205's.Way too smokey so I went back to sock nozzles.I did lose a noticable amount of power and all the smoke by switching nozzles but I would rarther have a clean running machine.I wonder if the bosch OEM 205's would smoke less???

tintin mentioned about looking at the metal surfaces on those chinese pump cam's.  the metal was of inferior quality... and i'm betting that the injector nozzles are too.  however, the price of the genuine bosio nozzles or equivalent are very expensive in comparison!

i can't wait to see what my .216's from jbmorrisons can do.  hopefully they won't smoke too bad??

GTD Injector Nozzles

Oh boy. I bought a set of GTD injector nozzles from JB Morrison too. Now that I have decided to go the Elsbett conversion route, I was planning to resell these. How do I determine whether they are real or fake? I wouldn't want to mislead whoever I resell them to.

Since the guy is NO longer a registered user on Ebay..It would be safe to guess they are knockoffs. Im guessing you bought them longer then 90 days ago so you have no way to get your money back from Ebay. You can always ask...cant hurt but they dont like to give money back when they SHOULD by their rules...so Im sure they would use this against you.  You could always contact the Feds about wire fraud...since thats what it is.

His web site is under construction http://www.jbmorrison.com/ so I don't know if he's just dropping the eBay thing or if he's getting out of the parts business.
