« on: July 09, 2008, 12:59:12 pm »
Just returned from my local performance parts store, trying to get a 2 guage pillar mounted pod. they said that they do not make them for my car, the closest that they can get is a 1993 jetta.

Will a pod designed for a 93 work, or will I have to use a pod for another car and modify it to work on mine?

1990 VW jetta 1.6 td, 2.5" exhaust, no muffler, governor mod 2010 edition, K&N filter. and now 66 hp and 136 ftlbs.
project 1.6 liter in the works  :)

I have a link for a MK2 A-pillar mounted gauge pod, but the link is at home so I'll post it after work.

That would be nice. I had it saved then have a massive hard drive crash and lost everything :(

Here is the link that I found.  It's a 2 gauge pod for the MK2 Jetta/Golf.  At $54.95 it's a little pricey but it's also the lowest I've found them for in my web searches.  You could also try here but they are $10 more.  The second link also has a MK1 Jetta a-pillar one gauge pod.

I bought the Sun 3 gauge setup, mounting it under the ashtray on top of that little storage area in front of the shift knob.

Was only $25.  Not too bad, imo.

I just ordered my dual pillar pod this last week...I got mine from Vivid racing..but they are Lotek brand...lotek has them advertised for cheaper then vivid..BUT if you ask vivid to match the price they will.
none were in stock so Lotek is making it.
I am real excited about this style pod!

If you look on their Gauge Gear page they have a 0-1500F EGT Pyrometer for $49.  I'm going to have to give serious consideration to that one.  Has anyone else tried their gauges?

I agree I like isspro as well.
I went with Auto meter Ultra lite II's this time tough. I know the new isspro's have the "Through the Dial Lighting" but I wasn't able to locate a complete set for the same price as the Auto Meters and I wanted the nicer lighting. I think winter is here more than summer so it's dark allot, yet another reason I went with the HID lights.

I totally agree. I do wish I could have found isspro's though.

Auto meters will do for now.

I'm going to get the A pillar mount as well now and get a real water temp gauge and an oil temp gauge. Prob move the EGT and boost to the A pillar and put the oil press, oil temp, water temp in the dash.
