1.9 TD upgrades
« on: July 02, 2008, 04:33:51 am »
Im am about to do an engine swap and I have had my eye on the 1.9L VW turbo diesels. Are there any performance parts for these small engines? Are they common screw driver mods to get more power? any info on these would be highly appriciated.

Everything you need to know is in the FAQ under make your 1.9(or 1.6) a faster car. They are mostly the same, but the 1.9 has some differences like a crappy boost pin. #1 if you are doing any mods, get an EGT gauge!!!!! Also the larger the exhaust, the better.

Just thinking, if it's a TDI(since this is the TDI  section) the above advice does not apply. You wrote TD, so I was assuming you meant IDI but posted in the wrong section. Well, big exhaust and EGT gauge still apply, but performance is more injectors, boost and chips/programming.
