• Obviously, if it has a lot of kms now, the likelihood is that the tach is NFG.  What is on it now?  Do you have any way to test?  even $70 for a pig in a poke is a bit risky.

• Out of all the clusters with tachs I've sold I have never had one that didn't work. Most ranged from 350-500k kms.
  
  Actually that is not true, one was damaged during shipping (the blue circuit board) but it was repaired and worked fine.

  Same thing here, tachs rarely break unlike the odometers and speedo.
