Head Cracks

I have the head off my 85 1.6 turbo and noticed there are cracks between the valves.  It seems to be in just the aluminum part of the head and not into the seats. Is this a normal wear?

how much millimeters is that?
I think I've read on vw literature that up to 1.5mm was normal, but just between the valves, it can't extend past that.
