It looks like you bought it off a 16V Passat. That's ok though because the manifold should be worth more then you paid for everything.

Unfortunatly you will need a new air intake, exhaust manifold and downpipe. Every other TD (mk1,mk2,mk3 in NA anyways) will match your head and K24 flange. That includes K14, T3, K24, T2. The intake should be the same as the T3. Also, where the compressed air comes out and hooks up to the intake is probably a different size.

i can use the existing aaz inlet manifold from what i can work out as its silicom hose connectiong them.if i understand you right the exhaust manifold any td one will fit aslong as its got the 4 bolt pattern? and the down pipe again any one will fit then welded to my existing exhaust!

of a 16v? diesel? are these rare then? the guy i got it off did say it was transversally fitted engine.

I don't know about 16V diesel but the bolt spacing does look to be from a 16V gas engine. You guys got weird stuff over there that we didn't so I don't know for sure though.

yeah pretty much any TD exhaust manifold will bolt up to the K24 (except the K03 obviously) For the Downpipe you can either get a K14 or T2 one off a AAZ mk3 motor and it should bolt in with the rest of your exhaust or just get a flange and weld it on as you suggested.

Yes your intake manifold should work fine once the proper exhaust manifold is present.

i brought it all as a k24 diesel turbo!

i'm running a 1.6n/a exhaust at the moment so yes i will have to weld it. i need to upgrade to a 2.5 stainless one i know!

nice to know that it will fit with some simple parts. would it be a good idea to fit a intercooler with this set up or will that drain to much boost?

No worries then, get a mk1/mk2 TD exhaust downpipe and it will bolt on. You have the stupid C clamps that hold the exhaust together right?

no c clips as the 1.9 aaz was a downpipe to just under car then clamped to rest of exhaust i cut it slid my 1.6 inside and welded round so will just have to do this to the new down pipe

That K24 is the Audi 4000(?) style and so has the rectangular exhaust manifold bolt pattern and will not fit any "normal" VW diesel manifolds without an adapter plate.

Andrew

if i just make a plate and weld my exising exhaust to it that will work fine!! i hope lol

what about the manifold? will a td one work or is the turbo scrap to me?

just searched the part number and came up with this:

http://eng.turbo3k.com/catalogue/d-1302/

according to that its off a rover sd1!!!

the part number for audi and vw turbos on that site are slightly different as are the part numbers for the parts i am more confused that ever in what i have got.

if i made up an adaptor plate from the 3 bolt to 4 bolt fitment and again with the exhaust it should fit but will she work ok? arnt petrol and diesel turbos different?  the oil lines shouls be easy to make it.

It's the same turbo that was fit to the Audi 5000 (not 4000) 2.0L 5 cylinder turbo diesel.

Andrew

why are the manifolds 4 cylinder ones?

if wasn't standard to the car it came of then

i have been out to the car and loosely bolted in exhaust and intake manifold offered up turbo and wastegate fouls the bulkhead of the car but if i alter the angle of the turbo by only a few degrees then it doesnt foul and theres lots off room.

if i make a adapter plate up but make it into a little bit of a duct i.e an inch thick one end to nothing the other then it will fit.

i could either weld 4or 5 bits of 1/4 inch plat together to make a box but that would restrict flow or see if i could get a bit of steel 1"1/2 think and mill it out!

or scrap it and but the right turbo!
