leaks a little coolant from the plastic expansion tank. Also the car has 190,000 km.
Watch this very, very carefully. It could be a blown headgasket forcing the coolant out.
With the motor running watch the crank pulley, if it's wobbling it is going to shear off and the pistons are going to hit the valves and ruin the engine. You'll need to get it fixed ASAP, like before you drive it anywhere.
93 is probably VWs worst year for sheet metal quality. Look everywhere underneath. Usually the rockers are rotted out, as is the passanger feet areas.
Other then that take it for a drive, it should have good power and no smoke. Start it cold as well, there should also be no smoke.
Expect to do the injectors if they are original. If it is starting hard it could be as easy as the glowplugs or as hard as rings.
