Does anyone know what the 373 M head is?  Is this a mechanical turbo head?
:D I am looking for a mechanical turbo head that works, and doesn't need to be reconditioned.
Thanks,
Greg

Well, 2 out of 3............It's mechanical. It's a head.
But, I am pretty sure this was the original head on two N/A's I have. 1985 vintage. I hate to shatter that smiley!

Hey Andrew,
Are the castings the same, but the valves the only difference between na and td mechanical heads?  Could one use the 373 M for a turbo head, or would it need turbo valves?  I've read some other threads, I expect that I am covering ground already covered, but trying to do a search hasn't given me all the answers I am looking for.

Some didn't know if the valves were different, while some thought the valves were.  It makes sense that the valves would be more heat resistant.  What do you think/know?  :

Thanks for the input.

I've seen the same casting number on both mechanical and hydraulic heads and also both TD and non-turbo heads.  The casting number is NOT a way to determine the original application.

Andrew

Well, then, what is???
Related: then all 373T 's would not be turbo either????
