MF 1.6 TD Injection Pump on AAZ 1.9 TD
« on: June 06, 2008, 05:47:19 am »
I am about to install a MF 1.6 TD series injection pump on a AAZ 1.9 TD. Apart from using the 1.9 injector pipes and the 1.6 bracket to align the pump pulley, is there anything else I should be aware of?

What would the ideal injectors be GTD perhaps (due to the difference in pressure between the 1.9 and 1.6 injectors) ?

The reason behind is that from what I have picked up in the forum I think this pump lends itself more to tunning. I will also change the turbo to a 1.6 T3 for higher boost.

Anyone out there gone thru this exercise before?

By the way, are the 1.6 and 1.9 head ports the same, so I can also use the 1.6 manifolds?

Many Thanks

If you change injectors, you can set the pressure at whatever you want, especially since they should be tested/adjusted with new nozzles anyways.

I never remember reading that on here. There isn't much different between the pumps as far as I know.

Nope. 1.9 has D ports, 1.6 has  round.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't. I think the camplates are different so you maybe want to find a 1.9TD camplate so you get more lift.
