I'll try using the right forum now I know that it's a m-tdi

Sorry.
I have a Golf 3 GTD from 1993, It's fitted with TDI engine \ but the wrong pump for it.
Pictures at
www.martinfaber.dk/dragon/golfmotor Is is possible to make it run "good" with the pump that is fitted now?
It's kinda VERY slow to drive now, it pulls at low revs but lacks, alot of power on top.
Anyone who have tried this fit and can reccomend some timings? Or if not, is there any parts that I might need to change in the pump, or a complete pump swap, then again, to which pump? I'm not looking for a racer, but a car that runs good even on the highways
Thanks
*** I'm going to pop of the lid of the pump to see what pin's in it ***
Would it might help chaing to a pin from a 1.6td?

1.6 pin and spring if it has a straight AAZ type pin and wimpy spring. 10 mm head if it only has a 9mm. You can't tell by the pic what the pump actually is.
Okay, I'll try to find out exactly what pump it is.
But if it's a 9mm and I want to change to 10mm. Then I'll just have to find a pumpe from a tdi, and attatch some parts from the pump i have? Or is it more complicated
Your symptom is very commum for a good M-Pump but with very poor adjustment and some wrong parts, lots of power at low RPM and higher than 3000rpm It's very flat and no power, (lack of dynamic timing)
It's much complicated to adjust it properly, even for me if I do not know what parts It's used in the pump.
Okay, I'll try to see if I can find out anything about it.. at all! The former owner don't know anything about it, the car was imported with that engine in year 02' from germany to denmark. So it's hard to ask anyone
I'm going to find someone in denmark that knows something about it, I think the engine goes pretty well, it seems to have pulling power, but lacks power for speed
I just had another problem, If I want to give it some more diesel, it raises idle, as it should, but at some point it starts to "accelerate" in stead of idle. I've heard it's some valve in it? Is it something I might be able to fix? The car dosen't generate any smoke as it goes now
Try turning down both the idle and the residual fuel screw. Idle first, then residual fuel if you need to. But there is only so much you can adjust.

The residual fuel screw don't even touch..

I can turn it some more in idle, but don't know if that will stop it from "accelerating" when given more fuel
Just to keep it all in one thread, Would it be any better, if I bought a AHU pumpe from a 1.9 TDI 1998 model and used the parts from it, in my own pump? Cus I just got one offered for a fair price "240$"
