Renault Laguna pump for mTDI ?
« on: May 30, 2008, 06:43:22 pm »
I have found a Laguna 2.2 Diesel G8T794   -98

pump is marked
0 460 494 436
R 617-3
G8T BA 03 7700 103485
011  769 495 486
23 394
Is this pump suitable for a mTDI?
Nose is similar to AAZ pump but has a 20mm shaft.
Mechanical speedcontrol lever with a sensor.
There are two external tubes from front of pump (pumppressure?) to the injection timing plunger area. Two solenoids(?) are also installed there.
Device for smoke reducing on top of pump is not installed.
These cars are very rare in Sweden and I can not find information on the fuelsystem, but I guess it is a semi electronic system.

Are you sure that is not 1995 to 2001, G8T 792 engine, 2.2L IDI 61-63 KW, 130B injector.

This pump is not semi electronic, there is no N108 on it like semi electronic pump.

On the top of the throttle lever It's only a potentionmeter (TPS).

The small pipe It's for the cold start device.

There is a immo on the stop solenoid.

Not good for M-TDI, It's similar to AAZ pump, but with 20mm main shaft.

Hey

that pump sounds like a perfect doner along with a TDI pump to make
a great M-TDI pump.

Tintin you are right. Its a 792 motor.
Why is there a pot on the throtle lever?
The missing LDA? Is it a none turbo engine?
Are the pipes realy for cold start?
Giles reply gave me  god hope!
I hope this pic can explain the piping

The TPS is probably for auto tranny, I do not know more about Renault Laguna.

There are other mechanical pump with TPS and N108 to control the timing electronically, and these pump do not have any sort of cold start device, because the cold start timing is setting with a small ECU,  but not in your pump, no N108, and mechanical cold start is installed.

If you have a very good deal on it, buy it because It's a 20mm main shaft,  lots of small engine renault pump are 20mm main shaft, I do not know why.
