Motor upgrade on honda civic 2.2 i-ctdi
« on: May 29, 2008, 07:44:02 am »
hello!

I am owner of a honda civic 2.2 ictdi with a common rail bosh second generation injection system. I did a ecu tuning and i put a bigger intercooler.

I would like to know if its possible to know the duty cycle of injector? turbo pressure?

i would like to upgrade the engine.
Where can i find bigger injector and pump?
how much can i upgrade turbo pressure?

stock engine is 140 HP, now about 170HP. how much horse power crankshaft and gear box can take without braking?
thank you for your help!
and 2 pictures of my car

well if it was a vw, i would say double hp would be a 'safe' target.  now as for upgraded injectors you would need to find a similar motor but with bigger nozzles or something.  i think that you can have bigger nozzles installed, but not 100% sure.  a specialized shop is required though, as the injection pressures are sooo high (20k psi or more)

turbo pressure should be controlled by the ECU.  if you want more pressure upgrade the turbo.  VNT-20's are a good start for us VW guys, and maybe you honda ricers.

thank you for your help ;)
i'am triing to contact masters tuning, but in polonish, its difficult :/
and i have sent a email to a bosh car service, but i don't if its a good specialized shop. they didn't answer yet!

and if i put bigger injector without bigger pump, is it bad?
and is it possible to modify stock nozzles? (where?)
thank you ;)

this car had only FMIC mounted and custom remap, I think you don't need more ;)

Find good chiptuner in place where you live - honda has bosch ecu and it shouldn't be a problem
