The injection pump on my 94 TD has diesel leaking from the breather port. I was told this is due to an o-ring within the LDA leaking. I have screwed in a spare fuel input barb so I can catch the fuel in a container. However, since this started I have started to get heavy black smoke when I accelerate heavily, which is due to excessive fuel injected, I believe. I was wondering, what would happen if I disconnected the hose from the turbo to the LDA. So the pump wouldn't react to the boost pressure. Would I risk engine damage, elevated temperatures? Or just poor acceleration. Anyone know, or done this before? TIA
