MKII VNT Questions
« on: May 21, 2008, 06:37:18 am »
After helping Justin (Greasecar) turbo out his rabbit last fall, I ended up purchasing a 2 door MKII 1.6. I got a great deal on it, and am totally psyched with it. With that said, it's time for some change. I've got a MKIV turbo, but when I went to mock it up, low and behold, the compressor outlet hits the read engine mount. I scoured the forums all over vortex last night for solutions, and have yet to find anything here. I know I'm not the first to have this problem. I was wondering if a Corrado mount would work... I would greatly appreciate any advice/guidance, my AWIC is getting lonely!

I do know that on A3 & B4 chassis the rear mount has to be notched and reinforced in order to work with a VNT setup.  Jeff @ Rocketchip simply designed & made up his own mount for his own A3.

Hmmm. Do you know if he swapped the rear subframe, or just the mount? At this point I'm wondering if I should just build a custom mount myself...
