Effective Compression Ratio for Boosted Engines
« on: May 02, 2005, 07:14:44 pm »
Hey guys!

I was cruising around looking at interesting motorports websites and came across this page: Compression Ratio, with Boost, Analysis

So I thought I'd plug in the numbers for my TD and see what I get.

Effective CRboosted = ((Boost Pressure / Atmospheric Pressure) + 1) x Mechanical CR.

((10/14.7) + 1) x 23 = 38:1

Try that in your gasser!

PS - Click on the guy's home page link for lots more interesting articles. I think I'm going to save his whole website to my HD.
