Can a 1.6L be made into a 1.9 by swapping Rods?
« on: May 13, 2008, 10:29:10 pm »
I bought a TDI to replace my IDI as a daily driver. Now I want to rebuild my old 1.6TD and heard I could swap the Rods out or the crank and rods to something else to make a 1.9L.. Is this true?? I would like to have a Real 1.9L IDI But if I can make one from a 1.6L I will.

Thanks

No, block is different too. Bore is bigger and 1,9 crank won´t fit to 1,6 block.
