turning up my injection pump on an 85 NA diesel

I have an 85 Jetta with a 1.6 N/A diesel engine. I want to turn up my injector pump , for some more power when needed. Anyone want to walk me through this process? Also will this hurt my fuel economy?  Thanks,

You will notice a decrease in economy if it starts smoking. There is a good guide in the FAQ about it.

that will help you, but it doesn't really say how far to turn up the WOT screw...I recommend small changes with a test drive. The other bolts all affect what the pump does as well, the fuel screw I would only go 1/8th of a turn and drive watch for smoke, turn it up some more if needed until you see some then back off. Record all your dealings with the pump so you can always set it back.
A big thing to do I found was to make a custom intake cold air type tube, if you scroll down you'll find a post that says Flat maroon rabbit intake and take a look. cya Lucas

yeah theres not specific amount of turning any motor, it all depends on how good your compression is, the shape your ip is in, and the shape of your injectors.  i also suggest you advance the timing to 1mm.  my rabbit feels like a million bucks and all i have done is timing and increased fueling, and it barely smokes

I found that the other night, but can't find what screw to turn or what direction to turn it. It said to look for it in the Bentley manual, but I don't see it in there either. Thanks,

right under the return to the tank from the IP out bolt is the fuel screw that will turn the fuel up at all rpm ranges. It is right under the shinniest piece in my engine compartment on the IP. I would turn it 1/8th of a turn clockwise until you get the desired result...you can always go back if you make a note of what you have done. The screw on the front of the pump that controls how far the throttle lever will go is the WOT screw. The smallest one in the back is the idle. Note all adjustments and dive into it. You will know which one does what as soon as you start tinkering, or at least that is how it worked for me.
