I bought a ton of TDI pistons in and they are ready to ship.

Ironically enough...I never did hear from Prothe on his Chinese pistons...imagine that, but I'll keep this clean.

Are 1Z/AHU pistons different from the ALH? Which ones are these?

They are different in subtle ways but each works in the other application.

These are listed for the ALH specifically but they'll work in an AHU / 1Z.
Wrist pin is same size, height is same, etc..

In other words, they're backward compatible..
