WTT: My 2 plug cluster for your 1 plug cluster..
« on: May 07, 2008, 11:33:11 am »
I have a good 2 plug cluster from a mk2 86 Jetta TD w tach I'd like to trade for a 1 plug later style cluster with tach.

I'd be willing to pay shipping both ways.. possibly add some cash on top of that as incentive..

let me know

Myke... if no one on your side of the 49th parallel chimes in I have a 1 plug  cluster that I am about to sell... could trade it for a 2-plug and then sell that.

Postage back and forth across the border will be a bit spendy... happy to work a different deal if that saves you some money in the end.

You do realize that 1 plug clusters are very very very rare... almost as rare as 1-size-over AAZ pistons ??!!!  ;-)     Kidding of course.

Thanks for that reminder Vince..  :lol:

I don't want to sink too much moolah into it, but I'm trying to convert my gas 90 Jetta coupe into a diesel and don't want to hack it up too much.

Stupid question I should really know the answer to..  is it plug and play between gas and diesel of that vintage?

That's why I bought the cluster I have as well... but ended up finding an A3.

As far as I know the cluster should be plug and play... the only thing your gasser harness may not be pre-wired for is the glow plug LED:

T28/20     Glow Plug Indicator     U1/08     Green/White

Pin 20, Green/White wire.

Other than that it looks like everything else, including the tach, is exactly the same between engines.
