IDI vs E30
« on: May 04, 2008, 01:21:11 pm »
Heading South last night after a Chuck E Cheese run, we're on the way home with a car load of kids we happened upon a E30, looked like it was set up for road racing as it had some serious negative camber on the rear and BIG black letters on the doors 46 I think it was.
Clean good looking car I thought.
He rolled up behind me I thought a tad to close so I decided to send him a smoke screen, he took that as I wanted to race so for the next several miles he would come up to the side and hit the gas and off we would go.
We left him in the smoke at least 6 times. I think he kept coming back as he was amazed a little Jetta was beating him..
From 65 to 90 he was toast!!!

The kids thought it was a hoot as did I and I think we got our selfs a new friend as we flashed lights/ honked as he had to get off the freeway.

First kill for my little Jetta. It was fun.

30 psi after the IC, before I added it I was touching 40psi, talk about taking a turbo past its range !!!!!
I gained allot of power with the IC even with the lost psi, figure its all about flow more than PSi anyway. I just changed the IC from. 27"x5.5"x2.5" with 2" inlet/outlets to a 31x12x3 with 3" inlet/outlets. Lost 200deg at cruising speed with the larger IC.

don't forget that a reduction in temperature can increase the charge density but decrease actual pressure

Exactly, I suspect that's why I'm not to bothered by it at this point..
I still want to run compounds, small set like a k14 and a t4.. Something like that.
Fun fun
