I think you will have to get one from colliers, there are a few i think. I also want to get one for my aaz. went to a local rover breakers and they said they wouldn't split it  and you would have to be pretty lucky to find 1 in the scrappy, probably Bert will be along in a bit to tell us the part number

Rover Aneroid pin
« Reply #4 on: April 26, 2008, 06:45:47 am »
Gents,

I have been running a rover aneroid pin in my MK2 GTD for over a year now, the acceleration is noticeably differant, no differance in black smoke from over fueling either.

I am serving in Southern Iraq at the moment and have managed to get my hands on 3 aneroid pins, with diaphragm's attatched out of the vehicles that are scrapped.  One of these pins came out of a Hybred diesel engine used in rather special Landrover !!!!

I will try and get a few photos on the site to show you the profile.  Unlike normal aneroid pins that have an eccentric conical taper, this pin is cone shaped, no low or high fuel setting if you rotate the pin.  I have driven one of the vehicles that this pin came out of and it shifts, not bad for 5 tonne of armoured vehicle.  I am reliably told that the fuel injection pump (bosch VE) has had extensive internal modifications done to it, the cylinder head has been ported, polished and gas flowed, along with the intercooler..... before any one asks yes i do have the intercooler to match the pin, and it hopefully be retro fitted into my much loved GTD, once i get back to the UK.

I'm not sure if you will ever find a rover part number for the pin.
I'm sure Rover (yak) same as VW (Yum) will be the same in the fact that that the injection pumps aren't really meant to be dicked about with by the general mechanics at a dealership.

I think the best way to find your pins is to find the exact model that said pin comes from and get a Bosch agent, or someone with ESItronic to trawl through and get the number.
I deal with Bosch indirectly via a local factors, basically if you get me the Bosch number or lots more info I can do nothing but ask.

I have spoken with Bosch tecnical on several occasions regarding parts for JX pumps and they are quite accomodating.

Or, go to a local Diesel specialists and see if they are willing to help out.

Oh, and I have a pin from a Perkins Prima that came out of a Maestro Diesel van that has a scarey cone on it!

As far as I know, each pin has a number on it's base.

The price for weigh-in of knackered cars is so high at the moment that i'm just going around the scrapyard locally and lifting every pump pin I can find! The cars are normally squashed every week so new stock is easy to pilfer!
