Injection pump shutoff solenoid wiring

I've had a no-start circumstance with a '94 Jetta TD that is "solved" with a jumpered wire from the battery to the injection pump shutoff solenoid.  There is no power to the OEM wiring to the solenoid with the key on.

I can't find reference to the wiring in the Bentley wiring diagram.

Anyone know where the solenoid gets its power from?  I dislike taking apart a multi-wire harness to isolate one wire if I can avoid it.

I think it goes to the glow plug relay

Thanks, Tyler.  Does the glow plug relay remain active (keep putting out power) after the glow plugs turn off?  I ask, because as soon as I disconnected my jumper wire from the battery, the engine quit.

Check your Bentley again. Go to the diagram with the ignition wiring. It will even tell you what colour the wire is.

Tyler is correct... on an MK3 the solenoid is supplied by power from a terminal on the glow plug relay... power that is on whenever the key is in the "on" or "start" position.

If you look under "glow plugs" in the appropriate electrical wiring diagram section of the Bentley (a bit confusing, since various years and models are grouped together) you'll see it.

If your Bentley is the grey one and you still can't find it I can look up the page number for ya.

Looks like the wire to the soldnoid is connected on the other end to this wiring connector on the back of the engine:

Anyone know which of the wires on the upstream side goes to the ignition switch?  I hate poking holes in wires with test lights.  I'm guessing that if I take the connector apart, I'll end up with even more trouble.
