I've seen a lot of people talk about putting the 1.9 gasket on a 1.6. Is it a direct swap? what about the gasket bore size? does the larger bore increase combustion chamber volume? I'm assuming we're talking about an IDI, not a TDI.
Well, I like to consider myself lucky, and having heard the same chatter about the AAZ's (1.9TD) MLS gasket being a "better than stock option", I went ahead and ordered up one for my MF (1.6TD). I will let you know how it works out (and whether I am as lucky as I think I am) and provide pics of the experience. Seems I've over looked a few things and will be waiting for a timing belt tensioner pulley wrench, injection pump pin, and cam position holder before I get started. Other than that and with Bentley manual in hand, let the hands on lessons begin! :roll: :?
