Is 200hp out of a 1Z unrealistic?
« on: April 16, 2008, 08:39:06 pm »
I am gradually building up a Mk2 m-TDI with an AAZ bottom and 1Z top. Would hp above 200hp be unrealistic? If it isn't, what sort of internals should I be building with? I have heard that A4 PD pistons would be much stronger than the 1Z. Would the AAZ rods be up to that sort of power?

P.S. I know the Mk2 axles won't like the power but I am just concentrating on the engine now, the body will be upgraded after the motor is built.

read that thread... stock 1.6's with huge turbo's and intercoolers are nearly pushing 200 hp.  and the 1Z is built stronger.  bigger turbo, nozzles, intercooler and a good pump should bring you to where you want to be
