A2 1.6TD problems - 1.9?

ok i posted on here a fwe months back with water/oil mixing issues on an A2 1.6TD ive had the head machined and oil cooler pressure tested but still no joy, the engine guzzles water, oil level is rising every time engine is run and its chuffing out white smoke like theres no tomorrow

so i was wondering what was involved in fitting a 1.9TD engine (aaz code?)

as far as i can tell they are very similar? can i use std 1.6 tranny etc?

also when i started the engine the temperature light on the dashboard was constantly flashing and temperature guage didnt seem to move (main rad outlet hose was getting warm after few mins of running but temp guage was sitting against the stop) also the rev counter was working before doing the work and now isnt so i must have disturbed some wiring, what exactly causes the light to flash and what color wire is the rev counter?

i think i have a red with white stripe wire hanging loose at the front of the engine now? is this rev counter?

direct drop in, exhaust might need slight mod, 16mm taller block

I just put 5/8" spacers in my NA's, but a TD might like a hand made (mandrel bent)downpipe

tranny / starter bolts up.

Turbo oil drain will need to be extended as well, and the rest of the normal 1.9 retro fit mods
