does anyone know of a good expert in GTA, who can reseal the injection pump for my 1.9 TD engine . the pump doesnot need to be rebuilt only resealed
If you are able to take it off and reinstall it then resealing is a breeze. The most common leak is from the cold start advance shaft. The seals for that shaft are just small o rings. The only trick to replacing these seals is to index the lever to the shaft since it is splined with no idiot proofing (no insult intended I just cannot think of another term). This can only be done with pump off car if leak is on lever side. Another common leak is from the distributor portion (where lines connect) of the pump (aluminum/steel mating surface). This is also just an o ring but it is quite large. I would look/post on
www.vwdieselparts.com/forum general diesel forum for procedures. It can even be done without removing pump. There are a couple of other common leaks, these may even exhaust allreasonable possibilities. One is the input shaft and the other is the pump cover. Both have unique seals which can be bought off ebay or a Bosch supplier. I just doubt they could easily be found elsewhere. You might be able to do the input shaft seal on car but timing belt would have to come off so you might as well remove pump. The pump cover could be done on car. Again I would look on vwdieselparts.com/forum at the very least there is a recent post about how to install those springs on the throttle lever.
No need for fancy volkswagen timing tools:
