i tried to search and found a lot of my answers but i have a turbo intake and exhaust manifold and a downpipe being shipped to me.
I have a 1.6 n/a diesel. Im looking for a turbo which is best and cheap. Is it better to buy a cheap used one or is it cheaper to buy a new one and where and which one.
Is the best way to turn up the fuel inside the pump itself and is there a basic piont to start for boost. its at 1.05mm im pretty sure
thanks and if there are any more post that i need to read feel free to post them up
i have heard alot of ppl go with the K24 or T3 setup, its a 4 bolt exhuast mani and 4 bolt DP i heard they work really well my bro has one and its pretty quick when he just ONLY turns the boost to 15 PSI so i do know that for sure....
if you already have a manifold coming in the mail, find out what turbo it is for, there were several bolt patterns. then see what is available used.
used is always cheaper then new, and often just as good.
If your not planning on adding an LDA (boost enrichment) to your injection pump I would get a small turbo like a K14 or K03. If you dont have that extra fuel to spool up a big T3 you will have some horrible turbo lag...even my turbo engine had horrible lag with the T3 untill I did all the common mods (turned pin, starwheel, max fuel screw etc.).
im thinking k14 maybe a k24 but as mentioned above not sure what the flage shape is.
should have them in acouple of days
