Hi everyone,
I recently got a hold of a spare injection pump for my D24T, like most things in a junkyard it is very, very oily and nasty. I'd like to clean its exterior and eventually rebuild it. I am curious as to what cleaning agents I can use as I'm sure said agent(s) will get into the pump itself.
So, knowing that I'll rebuild this pump, is using solvents like engine degreaser (Greased Lightening, Simple Gree, etc.) "ok" if they get into the pump?
Thanks, Jim
if you are rebuilding the pump and replacing all the seals just use varsol. I'd plug off all the inlets and whatnot though. Then a trip to the beadblaster and viola.
wouldnt cleaning it with diesel and a tooth brush be fine? Can you just spray the whole thing with degreeser?
