the hunt for basic parts...
« on: April 07, 2008, 12:45:39 pm »
local vw speed shop cant get me the 6 sided flywheel to pressure plate bolts i need for my rabbit, i also cant find them anywhere online. i called the dealer and the dumb*** on the phone said they dont carry any parts for old cars and didnt even bother looking.

so, where can i find these online? i need to get a few other bits as well, but these seem to be the deal breaker everywhere i look.

thanks!

If you have a sample or know exactly the dimentions etc. I could get you any bolt you want...I sell fasteners(and everything else) for a company and we can literally get anything. I found a guy Brittish Whitworth (I don't know how to spell it correctly) thread bolts for his BSA motorcylce. They quit making them and there is only one place I can get those so once they are gone that is it, but that is just an example. I don't have prices but it will be alot cheaper than a hardware store or dealer. Let me know if I could help. Lucas ><>

i will make a trip to the dealer later this afternoon if i have to, but does anyone know if the flywheel bolts are single use stretch bolts? i know the pressure plate bolts are... but if i can re-use the flywheel bolts, or even use the 12pt version instead this will save me a TON of trouble.

thanks!
