How can I tell if AAZ has wobble without running?
« on: April 10, 2008, 09:19:37 pm »
I am looking at an AAZ block from a guy but the head is off. How can I tell if the crank has the wobble issue without running the engine? Does the crank pulley actually has play to it if I move it by hand? If the crank gear is off is there any way to tell? How much should I expect a local machine shop to charge to machine the crankshaft to a TDI gear (with the crank out)?

How much would you guys pay for an AAZ block, crank and rods?

you can tell with the crank gear removed, you'll see that the slot is worn on the edges.
