no, you dont need to. just change the pin and diaphragm over, the old spring will work (i did it on my 1.9TD, big difference hehe)

Well it depends on if you want the LDA to work like it is supposed to, or just go to full enrichment as soon as you get to 4-5 PSI, which is what the AAZ spring will do.

I would. If I remember right, it gives full fuel around 10 psi or so, way better than 4. I think ideally, it should be matched to your max boost, but it would be hard to find the right spring.

Jimfoo if i keep the stock K03 with no wastegate alterations/settings and which in itself is not a turbo that likes to blow too much psi, what would you reccomend? i wasn't even going to adjust anything regarding smoke screw ecc, just replace pin... would it be more practical if i use the aaz spring so i don't pull too much boost or replace spring and buy a boost gauge?

i am running the stock K03 turbo on my AAZ and i have replaced the spring and pin and it works really well not to much smoke but way more go!  since the k03 boost like instinly i get that low end torq right away i switch through gears at like 2200 it shoots me up to speed really quick!!
i am running the pin at about half
as for the turbo i have played with the waste gate a bit and even when the screw is slmost to the end of the rod i have never gone over 15 PSI
i have a boost gauge and the only way i have seen more is to pinch the other line coming off it. (sees like 20-25) didn do that for more than 5 min though!
