When I first start my engine, it idles a bit under 1k, and does that for a while. But eventually the idle will creep up to 1.5-1.7k after I have been driving for a while. I have turned the fuel up. Could this just be from thermal expansion of the fuel screw, or can there be another cause?

my car does the same thing,
I think its because the motor naturally idles slower when cold.
if you adjust your idle cold it will creep up when hot.
if you adjust your idle hot it will be too low cold.

Mine does the same thing. Not as drastic however. 900 at idle 1050ish maybe otherwise. I have to bring it down some.

yeah, mine idles at about 830 cold and sometimes as high as 1100 hot.
I didn't have this problem with my first pump 'till I turned the fuel up but all my pumps since then do that stock and it just gets worse when the fuel's turned up.

This is with a 1.6NA

K, I'll adjust hot, then just use my hand throttle when cold if I have to. I don't remember if my IDI did it, but if it did, it wasn't as much, but I don't think the fuel had been turned up on it either.

thats what i'd say. i've adjusted my cold start idle to be around 1000 and pushed in its about 900 to avoid the really rough idle.

Yea I just keep the idle low when cold and pull out the cold start a tad. Then when it warms up a bit it's normal.

Well, if I actually had the cold start hooked up...., but I don't.
