Building a nice daily driver...NEED HELP
« on: March 30, 2008, 11:15:19 am »
I'm building up a '93 Golf with an AAZ and a CHD tranny.  I have an engine that was rebuilt 30,000km ago, it's from a '95.  The 2 pumps have different pulleys on them the '95 is the same as the 1.6 with the big pin to lock it and the '93 pump looks like the way the TDIs are mounted, it has the 3 bolts and no keyway.  I need to rebuild one of them, I also have a 1.6 pump kicking around and a rebuilt 1.6 pump with a 10mm TDI plunger in it.  I want to build a kick A$$ pump and I was also looking to put GTD nossels in as well.  I would like to have some advice so I only have to build this car one.  The car has a K14 turbo and I have a T3 kicking are as well.  I also plan on putting in a front mount intercooler.

OK so I changed the boost pin to the 1.6TD pin.  Then I tried to change the spring and remove the shim in the timing advance thing on the bottom of the pump and the 1.9 pump has 2 springs inside and the hole is not as deep as the one on the 1.6TD pump (which has the blue/green spring).  I think I will try to put in a VNT-15 and some Merc. injector nossels.
