MK4 seats
« on: March 25, 2008, 07:54:03 pm »
Was wondering if MK4 seats would physically fit into a MK1....specifically a Caddy.  I found a good deal on a set of really nice GTI seats, but I dont know if its worth trying to make them fit.  I know the mounts are going to be totally different, but I'm not afraid of some cutting and welding.
Whaddya think?

Yea there is some work to be done on the outer rail attachment.

You do know that the Caddy was once a 4door?

Means you loose a lot of reclineing space. Slide theseat back for leg room, and the seat back is darn near vertical!

Am working on setting-up my Caddy for to use the 2door doors. Will be  lengthen the chassie about 9 inches for the door area alone. While I am in the welding mood, I will add another 6 to 12 inches behind the door (B piller area). Will be most interesting to see how it handles!
